NCSU Enterprise Risk Management Initiative Publishes 2021 Report

The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Initiative of North Carolina State University’s Poole College of Management has published its 2021 State of Risk Oversight report in partnership with AICPA. The 12th annual report draws insights from over 420 organizations and provides practical benchmarking perspectives for more than 40 aspects of risk management.

This year’s report emphasizes how COVID-19, social unrest and a host of other triggers have contributed to the already escalating volumes of complex risks that organizations face today. The findings reveal a need for more robust and mature risk management among organizations of all types and offers pertinent implications for ways to bolster risk oversight efforts.

I am eager to connect you with Mark Beasley, director of the ERM Initiative to discuss the 2021 report and its implications for the future of risk management practices. As a thought leader, NC State’s ERM Initiative focuses on the integration of enterprise risk management with strategy and corporate governance. The program works to advance this emergent discipline through a variety of outreach programs, research and graduate education.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the report, or if there are any specific industries or local NC organizations that Mark could speak to.
